Katie Ferrara

Katie Ferrara is a singer/songwriter from Los Angeles, California.  She writes music that can be described as “Soulful/folk-pop” with her influences ranging from Jobim to The Beatles, and Joni Mitchell to Norah Jones. Sonically, Katie’s voice is dynamic—she sings smooth, pure melodies, yet her voice still holds an edge, delivering deep and powerful emotions to the listener.  Her lyrics contain insight about love and are down to earth, speaking the truth about relationships.

Growing up in a family of musicians, Katie has been involved in music from a young age. She picked up the acoustic guitar at age 16 and has been singing in various vocal ensembles in LA since she was a teenager. While attending Pitzer College for a degree in psychology, she received voice lessons and began her career as a singer/songwriter shortly after she graduated in 2010.  Since then, Katie has released 2 EP’s: “When Love’s Not Around” (2011) and “Naturally” (2012).  Both were recorded London, England by local producer Jonathan Guillaumat.

Katie is now collaborating with various musicians in Los Angeles as well as performing as a street musician on the 3rd Street Santa Monica Promenade, singing covers and her original tunes. She is writing new songs for an LP she plans to record in the next year.
