This City is a song I wrote with Warren Huart about breaking free from hustle culture in Los Angeles and realizing what it means to be a human being alive breathing in the present moment.

The cities we build around the world are not just places to live, but rather a reflection of what's going on inside our minds. In a collective sense, this metaphorical "city" is really every individual's ego. All the memories of the past are stored in our houses, and the freeways we drive on a daily basis connect these places. The goal is to not get trapped in all this. Life is short.
We have two choices in the end: we can spend most of our time working 9-5 jobs or, try to find a sense of connection within ourselves and with other people! It means knowing that the city of memories created within ourselves is not who we are as people. We can just exist in the present.

The song brings up some interesting thoughts about the meaning of life. Maybe we don't have to overthink anything at all. We are in fact, right where we need to be. With the discovery of quantum physics maybe there is a connection between consciousness and the whole universe. Who knows? Maybe we are just lucky to be here on this spec of habitable

With the discovery of quantum physics maybe there is a connection between consciousness and the whole universe. Who knows? Maybe we are just lucky to be here on this spec of habitable land on Earth until one day we get wiped out by an asteroid. I'm up for philosophical debate.
This song will be on a TV show on the Hallmark Channel in June! More info TBA. :-)
